SCWO’s Annual Presidents' Forum and Pre-Budget Dialogue: Shaping the Future on 8 February 2025🙋🏻♂️
President Divya had the privilege of attending SCWO’s Annual Presidents' Forum and participating in an insightful "In Conversation" session with Ms. Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office. The discussion, moderated by Ms. Grishma Kewada, focused on key issues impacting women’s progress, such as skill development, job opportunities, and support for women returning to work.
A key takeaway was the importance of flexible work arrangements and facilities like lactation rooms to support mothers. The conversation also explored evolving workforce needs, the impact of AI, and the redesigning of roles for women as retirement ages extend. The session ended with a powerful message: "Make AI your aid, not your boss."
Elections Wrapped Up🤔, and Constitution Update Marks Club’s Next Step Forward. Date /Time/ Venue: 19th Feb 2025 / 2.45pm / The Gardens at Bishan, Sin Ming Walk, Function Room, Singapore 575578.
Hosted by President Divya
The meeting began promptly at 2:45 PM, with the President extending a warm welcome to all, particularly DC Maria. After confirming the quorum, the Secretary presented the nominations, with only a few valid entries, leading to a swift election. Many positions were filled through unanimous vote, while others were confirmed without opposition.
As the election results were announced, the club’s leadership got established, setting the stage for the next term. The President then introduced a proposal to update the club's constitution, suggesting a shift to a Virtual Office to reduce costs. After brief discussion, the amendment was approved, marking the only change in the constitution.
DC Maria Empowers the Club with Strategic Guidance, Paving the Way for a Clear Guidebook on Roles and Functioning💪🏁📜👩⚖️
After the elections and constitution update, President Divya and the club warmly welcomed District Chairman Maria once again. DC Maria praised the club’s active projects but expressed concern over low meeting attendance, encouraging younger members to take a more proactive role.
She proposed creating a detailed guide handbook to improve the club's structure, which President Divya fully agreed with and decided to establish a subcommittee to lead the effort. DC Maria also discussed various district matters with the club.
The visit concluded with President Divya presenting DC Maria with a token of appreciation for her continued support and guidance.
Other Key Matters📢❗🚨
Under club updates, President Divya/PP Roshan shared that the club had made a significant contribution of S$600 (Rs. 38,350) through Usha Gagrani, Secretary of IWC Delhi Umang, in support of the fencing and concrete flooring project at a Primary Government School in Rajasthan, India. This new and innovative initiative aligned with the club’s commitment to supporting the international clubs of IWC and its new agenda, which was set at the beginning of the year and is now progressing well.
President Divya completed her e-vote for the IIW Election,. and also proposed the formation of a subcommittee to develop a comprehensive handbook for the club. She nominated IPDC Prabha, DC Maria, and IIWPBD Shirin to join this important initiative, confident in their ability to create a structured framework that will guide the club’s future operations.
